Sanitation Laborer

Position Description: Maintain sanitary condition of equipment by following effective sanitation methods to meet regulatory requirements Primary Responsibilities: * Maintains sanitary condition of equipment by disassembling equipment and cleaning to regulatory standards with use of high pressure water @ 140 - 160° F; following proper chemical allocation and cleaning applications * Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations * Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed * Adhere to all break and lunch requirements for the position. * Learn and execute 8 steps of sanitizing equipment, work area, and other requirements for a quality operation * Fulfill inspection requirement of equipment after sanitation process is complete. * Must understand the corrective action process Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: Not applicable Requirements: * Able to speak English preferred * Previous related experience preferred * Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred * Able to work night shift; overtime and weekends as needed * Effective communication skills * Learn and understand the three main areas of contamination. Physical Requirements: * Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds occasionally throughout 8 hour shift * Able to tolerate hot/steam and wet conditions 8+ hours per day * Able to work around and with chemicals including alkaline detergents, acid and chlorine liquids, and caustic soaps * Standing, walking, and climbing 8+ hours per day Training Period: * Minimum six months meeting all above requirements; up to three years
