TRISTAR is seeking a Information Security Specialist II for our government customer in Bloomington, IN
Position Description:
The Information Security Specialist II will provide software support for CAC2S patching and scanning
This includes monthly maintenance of software baselines to maintain IA compliance
Perform regressive compliance scanning, this includes ACAS scans and SCAP reports
Keep record of patches applied and assist in updating corresponding documentation with a list of software versions
Anticipate potential dangers in the systems and use their ingenuity to implement new methods to protect the software baseline
Monitor and analyze computer systems and networks to assess risks and determine how policies can be improved
Position Responsibilities:
Perform periodic system security scans using ACAS scans
Verify STIG compliance
Conduct quarterly reviews
Ensure that changes to the hardware, software, or firmware of the software baseline are coordinated with the ISSM/ISSO
Ensure security patches are installed appropriately
Position Requirements:
At least 3 yrs experience performing ACAS scans and STIG compliance using tools like SCAP
System Administration background and knowledge preferred
Experience working with physical IT equipment, IE servers, routers, switches, etc.
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
MUST be a US Citizen
Must have active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other Information Technology related fields
Security Plus certification required before start date
