Control Engineer Level 4 - Traction Power SCADA

Location: Tysons Corner, VA / Hybrid Remote

Traction power substations (TPSS) provide high voltage AC/DC power for railway vehicles. The MCDEAN CIM Automation Systems Division provides complex monitoring and control (SCADA) solutions for Transit Authorities such as the WMATA, MDOT, MTA, DDOT, MWAA, etc.

Responsibilities: Lead design/build efforts throughout their project lifecycles from bid to turnover, including guiding a team of several other Engineers and Technicians in completion of the work. Perform design of TPSS control equipment and SCADA panel assemblies, sequences of operations, logic configurations, human-machine interfaces, etc. Primary control technologies are: Schweitzer Electronic Labs (SEL), NovaTech, Emerson, GE iFix and Proficy, Vijeo. Manage design requirements and compliance, systems interfaces and integration, and testing and commissioning. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through a positive solutions-based approach. Previous experience working with or for Transit Authorities and in the Transit Industry is highly desired and strongly preferred. Successful candidates will work well in a peer-centric, data-driven, Engineering work environment. Education: Master's Degree in Engineering with 5-7 years of experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 7-9 years of experience

Abilities: Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. Sitting for extended periods of time. Reach extending hands or arms in any direction. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hand or arms, for example, using a keyboard. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Identify and understand the speech of another person.
