I am currently working with a leading AM LAW ranked firm, who are actively looking to recruit an Attorney who specializes in private equity matters to join their Chicago office. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage private equity transactions, from due diligence to deal completion. Provide legal counsel on private equity matters, including fund formation, structuring, and regulatory compliance. Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents, including purchase agreements, investment agreements, and disclosure schedules. Collaborate with clients, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to develop effective legal strategies. Focus on representing middle‑market private equity funds and their portfolio companies, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school – ideally ranked in the top 40. Active state bar membership and eligibility to practice law in Illinois. 3+ years of experience as a Private Equity Attorney, ideally gained within a large law firm setting. In‑depth knowledge of private equity laws and regulations. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast‑paced environment.
