Overview The Manager of Clinical Research Center Operations is responsible for overseeing Clinical Research Center staff and other clinical support staff across the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) network. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, managing staffing and operations for clinical trials, and coordinating with Principal Investigators and sponsor representatives. Responsibilities Manage Clinical Research staff and other trial support staff, assign schedules, and make staffing and workflow decisions. Monitor and evaluate staff performance regularly. Interpret, support, and communicate research policies, standards, and procedures. Provide training for new team members and assign coverage across multiple research locations. Maintain staffing levels in line with study protocols, budgets, and SOPs. Manage hiring and payroll processes using PeopleSoft HR system. Develop and implement corrective action plans with team members. Lead weekly meetings for the research department and attend monthly all‑department meetings in the absence of the director. Ensure full compliance with written protocols, SOPs, HMH policy, GCP, IRB policies, FDA regulations, continuing education, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission rules. Manage phase I‑IV study operations, coordinating with ancillary Medical Center staff. Serve as liaison with Principal Investigators and support new PIs. Meet with FDA auditors and sponsor representatives as needed. Review sponsor and regulatory correspondence and resolve outstanding items. Collaborate with Research Budget/Contracts office to capture research fees and execute trial agreements. Work on special projects related to quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and education. Attend educational offerings and conferences to stay current on best practices. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other relevant field. Minimum of 6 years of clinical research experience. Working knowledge of FDA/DHHS regulations, GCP guidelines, CITI, and Safety/IND reporting. Excellent organizational and decision‑making skills. Willingness to perform additional clinical research tasks as needed. Mandatory education on human subject research. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Preferred 1 year of supervisory experience. 1 year of clinical research management experience. Compensation Minimum rate of $111,924.80 annually. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency.
