Essential Job Functions:

* Prepares exam room, equipment, accessories, and materials as needed for various exams.
* Prepare patients for examination, explains procedures, and assist patients on and off the exam table.
* Responsible for the assessment and care of patients during the procedure, initiating CPR and/or calling for assistance as needed.
* Practice sterile and isolation techniques to prevent contamination.
* Assists department to meet federal and state rules and regulation. Participates in identifying and correcting required changes.
* Participates in problem solving and continuous quality improvement.
* Completely processes images and sends through PACs system to Radiologist for interpretation.
* Performs ultrasound examinations according to department policies and procedures.
* Courteously answers phone and screens or takes messages accurately.
* Performs ultrasound procedures on inpatients and outpatients.
* Processes paperwork and performs preliminary interpretations of tests for formal interpretation by Radiologist.
* Can analyze and solve complex, technical problems using basic technical principles and some experience-based knowledge.
* Must have good communication skills in order to explain instructions and procedures to patients and patient families and to comfort patients and patient families.
* Must also be able to follow existing procedures and instructions and sometimes be able to deviate from them when special problems arise.

Requirements:

* 6-12 months of experience
* Registration as a registered diagnostic Sonographer (or be registry eligible)
* Cardiac and Vascular registration
* Should maintain registry with the ARRT or RDMS and be licensed with the appropriate state agency if at all possible

Pay: $35.00 per hour
