Overview / Job Summary:

Contribute enthusiasm, creativity, determination, hard work and a results-oriented focus to the Strategic Communications department primary objective of increasing enrollment. Primary responsibilities include visual direction for all internal and external graphics, developing conceptual ideation and delivering a captivating visual message to the reader, viewer, or user. This includes but is not limited to large scale design projects, environmental design, graphic design for print and web, coordinating production of various printed/produced materials, content generation, and marketing campaign support. To succeed as the Manager of Creative Services, one should be a creative and communicative multitasker with exceptional project and time management skills. One should be punctual, perceptive, and detail-oriented with a great mind for developing and realizing the vision of the campaign in relation to the goals of the institution.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
  • The Manager of Creative Services is responsible for the development, build, and implementation of creative visuals for all WSU Tech brands by developing design concepts and campaign assets for multiple projects.
  • Take an active role in the entirety of a variety of design and production projects for all WSU Tech brands from initial site visits, field measurements, file creation, art approval, vendor coordination, and execution.
  • Work to establish art department standards for production, productivity, quality, and client service that will position our department for future growth and increased institutional support.
  • Develop and present out of the box ideas to enhance and strengthen the college's marketing efforts. Preform all duties with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Work to ensure that project schedules are accurate and realistic, and deadlines met.
  • Uphold the overall college brand standards and visual guidelines. This includes creating and maintain an internal brand asset database for use college wide.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Media Production, Fine Arts, Web Development or Integrated Communications required.
Requirements, Knowledge & Skills Needed:
  • A minimum of five years creative design experience that displays critical thinking and expert communication. A strong work history, preferably with an Art Direction background.
  • A minimum of two years management and leadership experience. Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A strong creative vision with vast knowledge of typography, image manipulation, illustration and animation, with attention to business objectives.
  • A working knowledge of industry production requirements and timelines for a variety of projects.
  • Awareness of the basics of the legal and regulatory backgrounds of the industry, which must be adhered to.
  • Expert familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in WordPress build and design, preferred.
  • A progressive work history as demonstrated by an online and/or print portfolio exhibiting top[1]quality work for both web and print is required.
  • Experience in utilizing web and social media tools to achieve business objectives.
  • Proven ability to develop, pitch, and execute strategic marketing strategies, required.
  • Ability to deal with diverse and flexible situations in a busy environment.
  • Knowledge of photography with DSLR cameras, preferred.
  • Experience in dimensional design, including but not limited to vehicles, large transportation, environmental and facilities, fixtures, etc.
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
