Position Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career Serving as a key member on the Membership team, the Membership Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and updating membership records, serve as a resource for member inquiries through email and by phone, and will also be responsible for membership mailings. The Coordinator will support the Senior Director with member-facing activities, including researching and preparing presentations for member and prospective member meetings. This individual will also support the Membership Manager with membership renewals and collecting dues payments.

  • Serve as a contact person for member inquiries via phone and email.
  • Execute weekly/monthly membership mailings, including prospects.
  • Support membership application process, renewals, and dues collections.
  • Maintain member data system to ensure accuracy and completeness of member information.
  • Responsible for working closely with Senior leadership to prepare materials for board meetings.
  • Assist the Senior Director in the scheduling and preparation of member and prospective member meetings and presentations.
  • Manage market research and survey efforts and work with leadership to better understand market size, awareness of the landscape industry, and current and prospective member needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to include in-office administrative functions in coordination with other internal department coordinators.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, hybrid position (working remotely and in the office). The employee is required to work in the office three days a week, based on the needs of this position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and must work at least 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

  • Takes initiative, demonstrates creativity, personable, with strong customer service skills, and has a high level of professionalism.
  • Comfort working independently, as well as part of a team; proactively collaborate with NALP staff, members and other stakeholders on relevant projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in member management; use of a variety of AMS/CMS (membership database).
  • Superior technology skills.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, however, 3 or more years of experience may substitute for degree.
  • 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain data with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Direct experience with customer relationship management platforms (CRM). Experience with iMIS preferred.
  • Direct experience working in membership services for an association is highly preferred.
  • Excellent computer knowledge; proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom) and Adobe Creative Suite.
