Clinical Housekeeper

Description Must empty garbage to outside dumpster daily. Cleans assigned areas buy washing furnishings, floors and equipment with approved disinfectant to prevent spread of disease. Required to re-stock housekeeping cart for next shift. Uses dust cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, blinds. floors, light fixtures, fans, vents, walls, doors and furniture. Empties trash baskets and arrange furniture. Cleans windows inside and outside. Scours and polishes sinks, mirrors, and similar equipment, replenishing supplies of soap, towels and other dispensable items. Notifies supervisor when supplies are low. Reports any mechanical failures of negative conditions as observed in assigned areas for preparation or work order for maintenance. May be required to buff floors. Required to weigh rags and mops and record. Washes, dries and pre-treats laundry. Delivers laundry to designated areas around the hospital including the clinic. Cleans dryer vents per requirements. Maintains laundry weight records. Maintains laundry area in a clean orderly manner. Keep utility and linen supply room in good order. May be assigned permanently to a specific area such as emergency room, offices or surgery, clinic or laundry. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. Be knowledgeable of federal, state and facility's rules, regulations, policies and procedure. Follow defined infection control procedures. Understands facility's fire and disaster plan; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies. Must be courteous, cooperative and congenial at all times, inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Required to wear supplied designated uniform. Must be neat and clean. Participates in educational programs and in-service meeting. Attends meetings as required. May be required to work as member of team. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Requirements Education: High School or GED preferred. Experience: Desirable but not essential. Specific Skills: Previous institutional experience is preferred. Computer Skills: Minimum. Licenses: Not required Certifications: Not required
