POSITION SUMMARY:This position is primarily responsible for producing baked items, preparation of salads and desserts as needed, and transporting finished baked goods. Assists in washing dishware, pots and pans. Responsible for cleanliness and proper usage of equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas. Requirements High school graduate or GED equivalent with a minimum of 1 year experience cooking in an institutional food service environment preferred.Looking for background in baking procedures for breads, cakes, pies and various desserts, in a quantity production environment.Position requires long hours standing with the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.Possess basic mathematical skills with the ability to follow standardized recipes.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the basics of the English language.Ability to maintain the care and appearance of bakery areas and equipment, and work diligently to minimize the waste of supplies.Ability to act and intervene independently in routine and emergency situationsSelf-motivator with ability to perform duties listed in job description with limited supervision, ability to schedule time wisely, and willing to accommodate changes.Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, and customer-first manner.Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.Fluency in a second language is a plus.Salary Description $13.10 - $17.03 per hour
