Senior Software Engineer - Enterprise Regulatory Reporting Location: New YorkBusiness Area: Engineering and CTORef #: 10045341 Base pay range: $160,000.00/yr - $240,000.00/yr The Enterprise Regulatory Reporting HUB (RHUB) provides a global cross-jurisdictional transaction and trade regulatory reporting solution. It integrates with several buy-side and sell-side firms, venues, and other systems, both internal and external to Bloomberg. The system offers services such as eligibility checks, data enrichment, data validation and reconciliation, maximizing data accuracy and correctness, ML-based exception management and alerts via a real-time rules engine. RHUB’s services connect to all major reporting destinations, including Trade Repositories (TR), Swaps Data Repositories (SDR) and National Competent Authorities (NCA). RHUB’s scalable architecture supports horizontal and vertical scalability and has successfully scaled from handling 50 million to over 600 million daily transactions since launch. We’re Hiring For Multiple Teams RHUB Platform and Infrastructure team builds and maintains the common components and building blocks of the RHUB platform, including high-performance ingestion, routing, and data enrichment services, and the frameworks and APIs that power a highly distributed, horizontally scalable system using microservices and a pub/sub architecture. They develop libraries that enable all RHUB services and their clients to meet ever-increasing volume and throughput demands while maintaining high availability and uptime. RHUB Services team builds the core systems that power regulatory transparency and operational excellence across Bloomberg’s regulatory platforms. They deliver automation frameworks, improve system resilience and observability through SLOs and SLIs, and build consistent UI and analytics solutions to turn complex data into actionable insights. They optimize database and middleware performance and contribute specialized services such as BTCA and BVault. RHUB Regulatory Reporting team delivers a global, cross-jurisdictional transaction and transparency reporting solution. It ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in all reporting activities, meeting clients’ regulatory obligations across major regimes worldwide. Tech Stack C++ and Python Comdb2 and PostgreSQL for databases Cassandra for NoSQL large-volume storage Redis for caching RabbitMQ and Kafka for messaging FIX protocol for electronic trading communication We’ll Trust You To Help drive the architecture design and strategy for the Enterprise Reporting engineering organization Develop and expand on the core framework used by Enterprise Reporting teams Collaborate with development organizations across Bloomberg to understand how development changes affect other regulations Optimize services for our ever-growing client demands You’ll Need To Have 5+ years working with an object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java or Python. A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field of study or equivalent work experience. An understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms, as well as CI/CD and automated testing. We’d Love To See Prior contributions to system design, architecture and scaling fault-tolerant, distributed systems. Familiarity with distributed messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, IBM MQ. Familiarity with XML, JSON, FIX, SWIFT, SFTP. Financial knowledge.
