The Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) Programs & Engineering (PPE) subdivision is a multi-site organization engaged in the design, fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and delivery of the PPTT, a full-scale propulsion plant hardware simulator, to support the Next Generation Training Program (NGTP). electrical and systems engineering of the trainer and supporting infrastructure; PPTT Integration, the holistic physical training envelope and supporting structure and interconnections; and project management of all related work efforts.
An exciting opportunity is now available for entry-level electrical engineers to support these ongoing efforts; this work consists of electrical and systems engineering, development, and testing of the PPTT and its supporting system and testing facilities. Plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are being met
• Perform electrical design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers as well as internal NNL stakeholders
• Support on-site hardware inspections and testing of production equipment at Supplier facilities and remote NNL sites
• Design, procure, install, test, and maintain the PPTT Test Platform, including electrical cabinetry and special-effect hardware demonstrators
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design software
Experience evaluating, and creating, electrical designs based on approved technical requirements
Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
