About the role: Youll contribute to the architecture and technical vision for a line of companion apps and backend services for the new generation of electric vehicles for the Honda and Acura brands, unveiled at CES this year. Target end-user platforms include Android and iOS. Were looking for someone who has a strong sense of ownership of product features and quality, is enthusiastic about trying new technologies, and does not hesitate to do whatever it takes to get things done, even if outside their usual responsibility area. Responsibilities: Develop a vehicle companion app on iOS with a Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) core and native SwiftUI views Provide guidance and support across the app feature stack, including the Android app and the server layer Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and peers across Honda Engage in discussions and contribute ideas to product definitions and designs Lead technical discussions, feature development, and architecture reviews Design APIs and SDKs together with internal and external stakeholders Take ownership of features from concept to delivery Support engineering development lifecycle processes in a highly regulated and safety-oriented industry Build prototypes to validate the feasibility of challenging requirements and to test new ideas Mentor other engineers and proactively raise the level of the team Drive company vehicles to support hands-on product development, testing, and real-world validation Get behind the wheel for competitive analysis, benchmarking, and helping shape the next generation of our products Qualifications: 5+ years of experience with the development of customer-facing native iOS apps Team player with a positive attitude and who is committed to continuously improving the team, the product, and the company Experience creating readable, thoughtful, and maintainable code Experience utilizing dependency injection, asynchronous programming, multi-threading, particularly around structured concurrency Nice to Have: Experience in the Automotive industry $152,000 - $214,000 a year This is the position's total compensation package including the company's bonus structure. This position also comes with full benefits. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors.
