**Job Title:** Cardiac Cath Lab Technician

**Must-Have:** Epic experience preferred

**Job Description:**

- Prepare and set up equipment to ensure interpretable results; explain methods and procedures to patients, evaluating their total condition throughout the test.
- Select and operate equipment as directed, record and calculate all necessary parameters, and perform ECG tracings for diagnostic purposes.
- Set up and check equipment for cardiac testing, and administer exams to patients.
- Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensure quality images.
- Participate in the coordination of the ambulatory ECG monitor program, send the record of patient monitor usage for billing to the central office for processing, and prepare Cardiology reports for physician evaluation.
- Perform tests with portable equipment in a patient room when necessary.
- Obtain patient history, answer patient questions, position patients on the table, and explain basic procedures.
- Position and transfer patients comfortably and observe for any unusual reactions or events.
- Maintain department records, reports, and files as required.
- Maintain records of examination data and other pertinent patient information.
- Assist medical staff during special procedures.
- Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

**Additional Information:**

- Requires completion of non-billable modules during orientation, typically averaging 1-5 hours, with module hours varying by specialty.
- Only one holiday will be approved as requested time off.
- Candidates must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing.
- A travel requirement of 50 miles applies, with locals accepted at a local rate.
- Background policy requires disclosure of any background hits or DUIs prior to submission.
- Return staff must have a gap of 1 year to return as a traveler.
