ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE:
  • Perform high-quality Breast Imaging procedures following exam protocols promptly.
  • Maintain production and imaging quality standards according to established procedures.
  • Utilize AIDET communication framework with patients to understand service requirements, confirm correct exams, and establish rapport.
  • Instruct and communicate with patients and families regarding the test procedure and assess patient comfort levels.
  • Prepare patients and procedure areas, ensuring proper positioning, equipment adjustments, and exposure factors.
  • Adhere to safety requirements, infection-control, and radiation policies to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain equipment, work areas, and supplies inventory to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operational capabilities.
  • Report equipment issues to management or relevant departments.
  • Assist in maintaining supplies inventory and screen individuals entering the department according to policies.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain relevant documentation including requisitions, patient history, and consent forms.
  • Maintain medical imaging records in appropriate systems and according to department policies.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:
  • Perform high-quality Breast Imaging procedures promptly and accurately.
  • Explain procedures effectively to patients and provide reassurance.
  • Deliver services efficiently while complying with system and regulatory standards.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, maintaining a calm and helpful demeanor.
  • Administer first aid and use emergency procedures effectively.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by managing wait times and providing courteous service.
  • Demonstrate continued education and skills appropriate for various age groups.
  • Serve as a preceptor by providing training to new team members.
  • Be available for on-call duty as required.

    • ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
    • Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) License by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
