**Must-Have:** Prefer surgical experience, post-op, early ambulation experience, and suitability for first-time travelers

**Job Description:**
- Work in a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 during nights.
- Care for patients with common diagnoses such as total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery (including laparoscopic appendectomy and bowel resection), bariatrics, medical overflow, and management of hemovacs and JP drains.
- No GYN patients, as they are directed to maternity and cardiac patients to MS Telemetry.
- Charge nurse present on each shift; may occasionally take a low acuity assignment.
- Support from nurse aides/patient care techs with a ratio of 1 tech to 12 patients.
- Responsibility for nasal cannula and troubleshooting RT equipment; treatments are done by respiratory therapists.
- Remote telemetry packs available with monitor techs to read and interpret; RNs are not required to read strips.
- Manager arranges schedule; rotation does not occur more frequently than weekly. Block scheduling may be considered if unit needs are met.
- Float requirements include floating to medical and telemetry, with support for interpreting strips and managing patients in those areas.
- Bedside shift report is required.
- A supportive and cohesive team culture within the unit.
- Scrub color is flexible, and no specific uniform is provided.
- Electronic charting is completed using the EPIC system.
- Trauma Level II care setting in an acute division.

**Additional Notes:**
- Candidates may not hold full-time, part-time, or PRN positions with any facility associated with the hiring organization.
- Radius rule: candidates must live beyond 50 miles from the facility.
- Requests for time off (RTO) needed upfront, limited to 7 days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO approvals are not available.
- Cancellation policy allows for 3 shift cancellations per 13-week contract.
