**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Telemetry Float Pool

**Job Duration:** 16 weeks

**Shift:** 12-hour days; 4 weekend shifts per schedule (Saturday/Sunday); must work 2 of 3 major holidays

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years required

**License:** Required for submission

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:** Ability to titrate cardiac drips

**Job Description:**

- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting, with 2 maximum attempts allowed. Exam must be completed within 48 hours of the offer.
- A pass/fail Sim Lab will occur on the first day of orientation. Study guides are provided with first-day instructions. Failure will result in being sent home and marked as a Do Not Use.
- Floating required across all Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units, depending on skill level, including potential ICU and Cardiac Telemetry coverage.
- Notification of campus and unit will be given 1.5 hours prior to shift start.
- Possible mid-shift floating to different units or rare floating between campuses, approximately 9 miles apart.
- Shift details at Campus 1:
- Unit: Telemetry
- 32 beds, 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Charge nurse and clinical supervisor present
- Centralized tele, no vents
- Mix of post cath lab, vascular procedures, CABG patients
- Shift details at Campus 2:
- Unit: Neuro
- 28 beds, 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Charge nurse and clinical supervisor present
- Centralized tele, no vents
- Neuro post-surgical patients
- Shift details in Medical-Surgical:
- Various units with 28-32 beds, 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Charge nurse and unit supervisor present
- Care for orthopedic, surgical, oncology patients

**Additional Notes:**

- The dress code is Navy scrubs.
- Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on-call at night; no in-house IV team but SWAT Nurse available.
- Required to float to similar or lower acuity units.
- Utilizes Cerner charting system.
- Hospital may cancel up to three times per contract; each cancellation could be a full shift or part of a shift.
