**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Heart and Vascular Institute Progressive Care Unit (HVI PCU) - Stepdown

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12-hour days

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years required; ICU experience required, CVICU preferred

**License:** Active nursing license

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:**

- ICU and PCU background, ideally with cardiac and vascular patient care experience

**Job Description:**

- Provide varying levels of care for ICU, PCU, Med Surg cardiac, and vascular patients.
- Manage post-operative recovery and post-procedure patients from the cath lab.
- Care for cardiac and vascular patient populations, including those with CHF and other related diagnoses.
- Work with medical equipment such as Impella, balloon pump, ventilators, BIPAP, and CPAP.
- Administer multiple cardiac medications for blood pressure management, including amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem.
- Conduct an EKG exam as required.
- Balance staff scheduling in a cyclic manner.
- Wear navy scrubs during shifts.
- Take an open-book exam on skills learned during orientation, requiring a 90% to pass.
- Flexibility in scheduling is expected.
