**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Medical Surgical (Med Surg) - Hematology/Oncology

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years

**License:** Required to submit

**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Charge RNs

**Must-Have:**
- Experience with EPIC Charting
- Level 1 Trauma experience
- Experience at a larger facility with surgeries/high acuity patients

**Job Description:**

- **Unit Overview:** Provide care in a 32-bed hematology/oncology unit. Oncology certification is not required but experience in administering chemo is preferred.

- **Nurse-Patient Ratios:** Typically 1:5, up to 1:6. Ratios adjusted for high acuity patients.

- **Patient Types:** Hematology/Oncology, chemotherapy patients.

- **Responsibilities:**
- Comfortable managing lines, chest tubes.
- Potential to titrate heparin drips and other titratable drips such as amiodarone, if necessary.
- Manage telemetry monitoring in collaboration with the central monitor station.

- **Support Structure:**
- Charge Nurse takes light patient assignments and may cover a full load if needed.
- House Supervisor available evenings and weekends.
- Educator and manager support are shared among smaller units.

- **Schedules & Requirements:**
- 12-hour shifts (7p-7a).
- Expected to fill scheduling gaps; block scheduling accommodations are available as needed.
- Weekend requirement is every other weekend, potentially more to meet department needs.
- Holiday rotation integrated with regular staff.

- **Other Details:**
- No call or standby requirements.
- Floating is required within skillset across all Med Surg units.
- Professional, solid-color scrubs are required.

- **Orientation:** Initial day includes essential paperwork, access credentials, and unit tour, followed by two additional shifts with a preceptor.

- **Charting System:** EPIC Systems Corporation (EPICCare Inpatient - Certified EHR Suite).
