Shift: Day - 12x3 - 7 AM to 7 PM, 36 hours a week
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required
License: Active Colorado Physical Therapy License or compact license
Certifications: BLS, NRP (within 6 months of hire)

Must-Have:
- Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program with the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential according to guidelines set forth by the NBRC.

Job Description:

- Administer safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
- Emphasize specialty areas including Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care.
- Monitor mechanical ventilation and administer medications.
- Conduct patient assessments and understand the ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring and blood work results.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures.
- Verify and document respiratory care physician orders.
- Provide effective report updates and keep supervisors informed of changes in workload and patient acuity.
- Demonstrate knowledge of respiratory care instruments and equipment, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
- Perform effective airway management, including bag/mask ventilation, and assist physicians with intubation.
- Participate in training and orientation of new employees and students.
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and manage ventilator patients.
- Assess patient respiratory status and make recommendations for therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Establish effective communication and maintain good working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors.
- Complete required continuous training and education, including complying with safety protocols for potentially hazardous materials.
- Engage in departmental and facility performance improvement initiatives.
