**Job Title:** Respiratory Therapist

**Job Specialty:** Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Adult Critical Care

**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks

**Shift:** Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

**Guaranteed Hours:** Facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in Critical Care

**License:** South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (must be active at the start)

**Certifications:** National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) RRT, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

**Must-Have:**
- RRT Adult critical care experience
- Willingness to work every other weekend and holidays as required
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

**Job Description:**
- Work primarily in a teaching hospital with nearly 200 beds, including multiple ICUs, step-down floors, general acute care floors, and an emergency department
- Provide advanced care for post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and complex vascular surgery patients, as well as those requiring heart and lung transplants
- Support patients with durable LVAD, temporary mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, IABP, and Impella devices
- Care for complex cardiology patients, including those post-cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, and decompensated heart failure.
- Work in a medical-surgical ICU setting with a diverse mix of medical and abdominal surgical patients, addressing conditions like ARDS, septic shock, hematologic and oncologic emergencies, GI hemorrhage, pulmonary hypertension, and perforated viscous
- Staff should be aware that they may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November each year
- Participate in non-billable orientation and modules, totaling an average of 16 hours
