**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** PICU

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Day - 3x12 - 07AM - 07PM - 36 Hours per week

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 Hours

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of previous clinical pediatric experience and 2 years of PICU

**License:** NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

**Certifications:**
- BLS - AHA
- PALS

**Must-Have:**
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (ASN required, BSN preferred)
- BLS and PALS certifications required

**Job Description:**
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Manage care of patients.
- Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be willing to float throughout the facility as needed, including adult units. When floating to adult floors, RNs will not take assignments but act as a PCT.
- Agency nurses are expected to float to Mother/Baby, Pediatric ED, and other floors solely as resource nurses/extra sets of hands.
- Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as needed.
- On-call required, although not often, primarily when census is down and not needed in Peds ER, Mother/Baby, Nursery.
