Job Summary and QualificationsMother/Baby nurses care for the mother and baby couplet from delivery through dismissal from the hospital. This population includes newborns and adolescent through middle-aged women (typically aged 14-50). Mother/Baby nurses provide care using ongoing assessments, interventions and evaluation of interventions (i.e. the nursing process) and is responsible for the plan of care. Emphasis is placed on patient teaching, critical thinking skills and promoting maternal/newborn bonding.
What qualifications you will need:- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- Registered Nurse
- Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
- Prefer 2 or more years of acute care RN experience

We are an accredited Cancer Program and Breast Center. We provide Women’s Services, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a Stroke Center. Our Outpatient Services include a Surgery Center, Advanced Wound Care Center, Pain Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Imaging, and Rehab. We are part of HCA Midwest Health, a network of hospitals in Kansas City and surrounding areas.
