**License:** Must be registered in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS)

**Certifications:** BLS certification through the American Heart Association

**Must-Have:** Successful completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CHAAHEP) approved ultrasound program, Associate Degree in Biological Sciences, Radiology, Ultrasound, or a relevant health sciences field

**Job Description:**

- Independently perform professional level assessments and a variety of non-invasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology.
- Record and communicate preliminary impressions of examination results to reading and supervising physicians.
- Assist with transthoracic echo, transesophageal and stress testing, dobutamine, treadmill exercise stress echo, and carotid duplex.
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures to evaluate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic disease processes.
- Perform examinations on adults and geriatric patients, occasionally on adolescents and pediatric age groups, using both stationary and portable equipment.
- Serve as a clinical instructor and participate in the instruction of fellows, residents, and visiting physicians.
- May participate in clinical research and act as a clinical resource to staff throughout the system.
- Be flexible with shift timings and willing to float to different units depending on staffing needs.
