**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience (excluding travel experience preferred)
**License:** Registered Nurse license from a Board of Nursing
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) are preferred
**Must-Have:**
- Comfort with handling Sexual Assault patients and evidence collection
- Experience with ESI assessments and triage
- Ability to work with a range of patient types, from neonates to geriatrics
**Job Description:**
- Care for a high volume of patients (150-180 daily) in a 33-bed Emergency Department including trauma and resuscitation.
- Work in a facility that includes a pod with 4 Behavioral Health rooms, vertical care area, and up to 7 pods depending on patient flow.
- Handle a variety of patient types, including major traumas and stroke, requiring quick and critical thinking.
- Perform duties as a triage nurse, identifying priority care patients and conducting ESI assessments.
- Rotate duties including taking care of pediatric and cardiac patients, with support such as ED techs, lead tech, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists.
- Utilize EPIC for charting and manage medications using Omnicell and Alaris.
- Potential floating to inpatient Med/Surg, PCU, or ICU as a task nurse.
- Participate in structured orientation, including specific ED education and supervised unit shifts.
- Adapt to variable shift times and staffing needs, with possible weekend work.
- Manager approval needed for holiday shifts and time off requests.
