**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS

**Must-Have:** Previous travel experience

**Job Description:**

- Work in a unit with 32 beds, primarily caring for adults and geriatric patients with respiratory diagnoses and medical conditions.
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
- Conduct tracheostomy care without mechanical ventilation.
- Utilize required experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Drips, and Trach Care.
- Preferred experience in Peritoneal Dialysis.
- Be responsible for titrating drips such as Heparin, Cardizem (up to 15mg/hr only), Lasix, Dopamine (low dose renal perfusion only), and Amiodarone.
- Collaborate with 24/7 Monitor Techs; review strips each shift alongside Charge RNs who read strips.
- Occasionally step into the role of Charge Nurse, with the opportunity for cross-training.
- Work with Nurse Aides based on shifts with ratios of 1 to 10 from 7A to 7P and 1 to 15 from 7P to 7A.
- Operate RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow O2, and manage trachs on Trach Collar or Room Air.
- Adhere to a flexible scheduling arrangement, accommodating block scheduling and requests.
- Weekend requirement on a set rotation (every other weekend).
- Participate in a holiday rotation with core staff, avoiding previous years' holidays if possible.
- Floating to other units like Med-Surg or the Emergency Department may be required, following float pool prioritization.
- Conform to the specified dress code: RN/LPN - Navy; Techs - Dark Grey/Pewter, with solid-colored scrubs and closed-toed shoes.
- Attend orientation including a general hospital session, nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor.
- Utilize the Meditech charting system, noting the future conversion to EPIC.

**Orientation:** General and specific unit orientation, followed by training shifts with a preceptor.

**Note:**
- Cancellation policy permits 2 shifts per 13-week assignment/extension and 1 shift for shorter durations.
