**Description:**
The RN Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department is part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing high-quality, safe patient care.
The nurse collaborates with licensed and unlicensed care givers to ensure individualized care for patients, families, and significant others.
Practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based research, aligned with nursing competencies and values.
Nurses are expected to adhere to state regulations and ethical standards.
Responsibilities include performing the nursing process, providing patient-centered care, and partnering with patients and significant others to focus on patient goals.
Coordinating care delivery, ensuring timely documentation, and promoting a respectful clinical environment are key.
The role involves teamwork, collaboration, and supporting performance improvement initiatives.
The nurse participates in professional development, serving as a mentor or preceptor.
Promoting evidence-based practice, participating in research, and upholding healthcare policies and standards are integral aspects.
The RN proactively plans patient care, develops protocols, and supports resource efficiency.
Compliance with policies, standards, and code of conduct is mandatory.
