**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit

**Job Specialty:** ICU (Intensive Care Unit) - Surgical ICU, Trauma Neuro Surgery

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12H Nights, Minimum Every Other Weekend (could work up to 3 weekends/month), first to float

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience required, including either neuro or cardiovascular experience

**License:** RN License

**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:**
- Experience with titrating drips (Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetatol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulin)
- Ability to interpret own telemetry strips on GE monitors
- Completion of a dysrhythmia exam (maximum 2 attempts) prior to acceptance
- Pass a skills validation for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices during orientation

**Job Description:**
- Provide care in a Level 1 Trauma Center ICU with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2.
- Care for patients with common diagnoses such as falls, gunshot wounds, blunt trauma, motor vehicle accidents, craniotomies, neurosurgery, stroke, status post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, and ARDS.
- Nurses must be capable of floating to the telemetry unit as needed, with a patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4.
- Collaborate with a hospitalist or intensivist in-house 24/7 and respiratory therapists 24/7.
- Utilize and manage Respiratory Therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and others.
- Participate in a self-scheduling system, with the possibility of manager adjustments for unit needs.
- Expectation to work 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule, with nightshift weekends from Friday to Saturday and dayshift from Saturday to Sunday.
- May have 1 holiday off during the assignment.
- Dress code: Navy scrubs.
- Unit/Department specific orientation of 1-2 days, with a Sim Lab pass/fail on Day 1.
- Utilize the Cerner charting system.
- No additional call or standby requirements, although there may be up to 3 low census occurrences per contract.
