**Job Title:** Interventional Radiology Technologist

**Job Specialty:** Interventional Radiology

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Variable - 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 4 days per week, with on-call requirements

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40.00 per week

**Experience:** One year of imaging experience strongly preferred; experience in invasive cardiovascular technology preferred; cardiac diagnostic/interventional procedural experience preferred

**License:** Registered Technologist in Radiology, Vascular-Interventional Radiology, or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology

**Certifications:** Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association), Basic Life Support (American Heart Association), Surgical Assistant License (as required)

**Must-Have:** High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree strongly preferred

**Job Description:**
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams, maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
- Follow safe radiation practice standards.
- Assist physicians in performing specialized cardiovascular procedures.
- Perform imaging procedures, ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
- Practice all regulations related to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation exposure.
- Produce accurate, timely, and high-quality images.
- Provide procedure information and instruction to patients and families.
- Assist and position patients during exams.
- Observe patients and equipment, report/document unusual occurrences.
- Facilitate patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of resources.
- Communicate with physicians, imaging personnel, and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration when required.
- Input charges and required data for procedures accurately.
- Prepare exam room, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients.
- Perform quality checks and maintain equipment documentation.
- Participate in ongoing education to maintain skill levels.
- Engage in professional activities through organizations and continued education.
- Participate in departmental quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritization of workload.
- Adapt to changing workload, patient needs, technologies, and staffing.
