**Job Title:** MRI Technologist

**Job Duration:** 12 months

**Shift:** 7a-7p, both 12-hour and 8-hour day shifts with a weekend rotation every 3rd weekend and call rotation

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week

**Experience:** Experience as an MRI Technologist

**License:** ARRT Radiography registration required

**Certifications:** ARRT MRI registration required, Approved CPR or BLS certification required

**Must-Have:**
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and weekends
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

**Job Description:**

- Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts, weekends, and on-call as necessary to provide quality patient care.
- Serve on committees and participate in projects as requested.
- Conduct procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation.
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patients and staff.
- Operate magnetic resonance systems, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment effectively.
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting their safety and comfort.
- Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination.
- Select appropriate pulse sequences, considering established protocols and other influencing factors.
- Perform venipuncture, start, and maintain venous access; prepare and administer contrast media.
- Verify consent/screening forms and utilize appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers.
- Assist physicians with interventional procedures, practicing aseptic techniques and observing universal precautions.
- Evaluate images and data for technical quality and manipulate digital data for display.
- Provide for the physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
- Use radiology information systems, complete required records and reports, archive images, and submit for physician review.
- Initiate basic life support actions when necessary.
- Provide practical instruction to colleagues and students.

Candidates for this role should possess a strong ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and maintain a high level of patient care and teamwork. Holiday coverage is required.
