**Job Description:**

- Function under the direction of the registered professional nurse.
- Assist the healthcare team in providing safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware patient care.
- Perform duties within moderate to high acuity surgical cases and occasionally work above this level as required.
- Demonstrate surgical skills for progressively more challenging cases.
- Exhibit efficient and organized surgical planning for assigned cases.
- Communicate proactively with surgical team members regarding surgical plans.
- Troubleshoot instruments and equipment effectively.
- Anticipate and procure additional supplies or equipment required for procedures.
- Mentor, precept, or train in various modalities.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Prepare the operative suite and surgical field to ensure a safe patient care environment while maintaining a sterile field.
- Gather required instruments and supplies, serving as a surgical assistant as needed.
- Comply with standards ensuring adherence to patient safety goals.
- Maintain organized and sterile techniques during procedures.
- Provide patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.
- Support evidence-based practice and ethical accountability.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members for process improvements.
- Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate flexibility in assignments.
- Complete all initial and annual competencies, education, and training.
- Care for surgical equipment and maintain cleanliness in the surgical area.
- Assume responsibility for additional duties as assigned.
