**Job Duration:** 26 weeks
**Shift:** 7PM-7AM, 12-hour night shifts
**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of RN experience; previous charge experience highly preferred
**License:** Registered Nurse License required
**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
- EKG interpretation/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
**Must-Have:** Experience in reading and interpreting rhythm strips; comfortability with charge responsibilities if experienced
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care for patients with various medical diagnoses, excluding primary cardiac conditions, on a non-surgical unit with telemetry monitoring.
- Patient types may include those with Stroke, COPD, respiratory illnesses, flu, pneumonia, COVID, GI bleed, renal failure, electrolyte imbalances, altered mental status, weakness, and non-operable fractures.
- Patient ratios: Day shifts 1:4-5, Night shifts 1:5-6, which may vary based on patient acuity and available support.
- Required skills include managing cardiac and insulin drips, reading rhythm strips, trach care, chest tube management, wound care, IV therapy, and central line management.
- Collaborate with a support team including CNAs, charge nurses, house supervisors, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists.
- Utilize the Cerner charting system and operate Alaris and Pyxis equipment.
- Will float as needed to areas with Med/Tele patients within scope.
- Participate in a two-day hospital orientation followed by a shift on the unit.
- Follow specific scheduling guidelines, with weekend rotations every other week and specific holiday requirements.
- Professional attire required with any color scrubs, excluding crocs with holes and artificial nails. Personal cell phone usage is restricted to breaks.
