To prosper as an Extended Function Dental Assistant, you should have:
• At least 2 years of continuous experience working in a dental practice.
• Certification as an Extended Function Dental Assistant or Associate’s degree in an EFDA program.
• Stellar verbal and written communication skills.

More about your role as an Extended Function Dental Assistant:
• Prepare patients for dental work.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, setting up trays.
• Assist with dental procedures, including fillings, cleanings, root canals, extractions, crown and bridge work, dental implants, etc.
• Collect and record medical and dental history.
