**License:** Current RN license within the state of practice

**Certifications:**
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification within six months of hire
- TNCC within six months of hire
- NRP within one year of hire
- AHA PALS within six months of hire

**Must-Have:** ER experience

**Job Description:**
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in emergency, acute care, outpatient, and swing bed care settings.
- Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations with minimal supervision.
- Triage patients safely and effectively upon entering the emergency care department.
- Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, influencing patient flow through the system.
- Communicate with the attending provider regarding changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic study results.
- Respond promptly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.
- Evaluate patient outcomes, consult with staff as required, and adjust nursing care processes for optimal patient care.
- Cross-train to use any new equipment and complete the orientation packet and checklist.
- Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients and reassess as per policy.
- Use the triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care, assigning triage categories accurately.
- Assess and reassess pain efficiently, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques, and educating patients and families.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results accurately.
- Perform and interpret waived testing (point-of-care testing) in accordance with policies and procedures, taking appropriate actions on results.
- Maintain knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
- Follow seven medication rights to reduce potential medication errors.
- Manage IV fluids with aseptic technique.
- Maintain accurate and ongoing nursing documentation.
- Perform patient care in an environment that optimizes safety and reduces healthcare errors.
- Follow provider orders from the electronic medical record consistently.
- Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality.
- Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
- Function as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and age-appropriate care skills.
- Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in the plan of care formation.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and comply with organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Attend staff meetings, reviews, and mandatory education sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational policy and regulations, including HIPAA.
