**Guaranteed Hours:** 48
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele
**License:** Registered Nurse License required
**Certifications:**
- BLS
- Basic EKG certification (ability to read/interpret cardiac rhythm strips)

**Must-Have:**
- Telemetry experience (Cardiac rhythm interpretation)
- General post-surgical experience
- Experience with Ortho post-op, peripheral IV starts, tube feedings, TPN, trach care, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, drain management, dressing changes, wound vacs
- Ability to discontinue non-tunneled catheters, wean patients off Epidural pump per order set, and handle PCAs, Heparin Drips, Insulin Drips

**Job Description:**
- Work between Merritt 3 and Haskell 3, which form one large Med/Tele department
- Provide care for medical patients including CHF, Pneumonia, COVID, COPD, sepsis, cellulitis, GI Bleed, and more
- Manage surgical patients for procedures such as Bariatric surgeries, vascular surgeries, urology procedures, general/GI surgeries, orthopedic, ENT, plastics, and neurosurgery
- Patient ratios are RN to patient: Day 1:4-5, Night 1:5-6; CNA ratio Day and Night 1:10
- Support includes CNA, Charge nurse, Resource Nurse during dayshift, and PA assigned specifically to the unit during night shift
- Use of EMR: Cerner; IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis
- Floating to other units as required, caring for patients within or below scope of practice
- 2 days of hospital orientation and a 12-hour shift on the unit
- Complete HealthStream/iCare modules before managing patients
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend; flexibility for occasional back-to-back weekends
- Holiday shifts scheduled as required
- Uniform: Professional scrubs in any color; no crocs; no artificial nails
