Travel Nurse RN

**Shift:** 7P-7A, 12-hour Night shifts
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
**License:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Certifications:** BLS; ACLS preferred
**Must-Have:** Charge RN experience is highly preferred, but candidates willing to be trained as Charge and work in that capacity as needed will be considered. Skills including handling chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals, IVABX, and Heparin gtts are ideal. Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips is preferable.
**Job Description:**
- Work with various patient types including total joints (knees, hips, etc.), general medical-surgical, appendicitis, colectomies, small bowel, urology, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, and patients with addictions in addition to other medical issues.
- Maintain patient ratios of RN: Nights 1:6-7.
- Perform ADLs, feeding, tray setup, answering call bells, vital signs, blood sugars, patient ambulation, and range of motion exercises.
- Collaborate with and support the unit team including respiratory therapy and hospitalists available 24/7.
- Attempt to start own IVs with facilities available for two attempts before assistance is provided.
- Participate in rapid response efforts with the in-house provider, respiratory, ICU ED charge nurses, unit charge, and staff nurses, and nursing supervisor.
- Document and chart using the Cerner system.
- Flexibility to float to ICU for Med/Surg level patients or to ED for tasks/support as needed.
- Join a rotation for weekend duties and holiday shifts, with travel pairs generally able to work the same weekends.
- Attend general hospital orientation and one unit shift for orientation.
