Responsibilities
The Manager, WIC - Registered Nurse or Registered Dietician, Norton Children's Medical Group is responsible for providing leadership and programmatic oversight for the Norton WIC department, meeting Norton initiatives and all aspects of the Women, Infants and Children federal nutrition program. This person will be the function as the liaison to the State and Federal WIC program and be responsible for meeting the federal WIC guidelines and reporting, overseeing the Nutritional Education Plan and Breastfeeding education activities in the department. The manager will supervise the day-to-day function of the department, as well as implementing and evaluating Norton and WIC initiatives, utilizing best practices as identified by both entities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Leadership and programmatic oversight for the WIC program in Norton Children's Medical Group including Norton initiatives and all aspects of the WIC program. Ensures the team is meeting WIC and Norton Healthcare policies and guidelines. Work across the Norton Healthcare service line, as well as community partners and the federal/state program to ensure alignment of goals and identify opportunities to meet the needs of the community. Promote WIC services via development and maintenance of WIC materials, marketing and community outreach. Oversee the team in day-to-day job performance, providing comprehensive support, feedback and documentation to staff for growth and development. Will be the WIC Coordinator, functioning as the liaison to the State and Federal WIC program, and be responsible for meeting the federal WIC guidelines and reporting.
- Oversees data integrity and works with team to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manages day-to-day team schedules, and ensures team has appropriate certifications, credentials, ongoing education, and licensures for job role. Provides WIC nutrition services to participants.
- Will track outcomes to assess effectiveness of the WIC program, assist in analyzing outcomes to identify program needs and resources, while ensuring value of investment (VOI). Excellent verbal and written communication, be able to identify areas for improvement and respond to the state requests for information. Responsible for meeting the federal WIC guidelines and reporting.
- Developing and monitoring the department's budget for Norton Healthcare and the WIC grant funding, and provide input for future planning, which can include assisting with grant applications, monitoring data and data reporting, internal and external budget management, grant invoice management and tracking.
Qualifications
Required for the Registered Nurse:
- Three (3) years of experience in health education, community outreach, or other public health program management
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN)
Required for the Registered Dietician:
- Three (3) years in specialty area
- Bachelor Degree
- Dietitian (State) KY
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (National)
Desired:
- Master's Degree in nursing
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (National) (RDN) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
