Travel Nurse RN

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 7 AM - 7 PM, 12-Day
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years; 1 year of ICU experience required
**License:** Registered Nurse License required
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS
**Must-Have:**
- Previous Charge RN experience is highly preferred. Willingness to be trained and work as Charge RN during the contract.
**Job Description:**
- Work in a mixed acuity unit with 9 ICU beds available, handling both ICU and Med Surg level patients.
- Manage a variety of patient types, including those on ventilators, dealing with sepsis, pneumonia, diabetic ketoacidosis, detox, congestive heart failure, and COPD exacerbation.
- Handle surgical complications from total joint replacements, general surgeries, appendicitis, colectomies, small bowel resection, and urology.
- Care for patients with substance use disorders with additional medical issues.
- Rare overnight pediatric patient care post-surgery.
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:3, based on acuity.
- Required skills include chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, epidurals (rare), CVP, A-Line care/blood draws, insulin gtts, and cardiac gtts.
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting strips for ICU and Medical-Surgical Units.
- Support provided by charge nurse, respiratory therapist, and hospitalist present 24/7, alongside centralized tele monitoring technicians.
- Utilize Cerner charting system.
- May be required to float to Medical-Surgical or Emergency Department to assist as needed.
- Participate in general hospital orientation, which includes online modules and time with the Clinical Education department, plus one shift of on-unit orientation and additional Charge RN training if applicable.
- Participate in weekend rotations every other week, with an expectation to work holidays as needed.
- Approval for time off requires manager approval.
- Professional appearance with any color scrub is acceptable.
