Job Title: Cath Lab/Special Procedures Tech
Job Specialty: SFMC - Cardiac Cath Lab
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 9-hour days
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Cath Lab Tech
License: Registered with ARRT and licensed by Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)

Certifications:
- BLS - American Heart
- IEMA Certified or willing to Obtain
- ARRT Certified
- CPR certified

Must-Have:
- Completion of two years post high school training at an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Minimum of 1 year experience in performing radiologic special procedures
- Competency in providing appropriate patient care according to age
- Ability to operate complex radiology equipment and follow established techniques
- Strong communication skills to explain procedures to patients and collaborate with physicians

Job Description:
- Perform cine, digital subtraction angiography, and other specialized radiologic procedures under sterile technique to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare examination area, position patients for procedures, and operate complex radiology equipment following established techniques
- Scrub tech duties such as obtaining and arranging sterile set-up of the instrument table, passing catheters and instruments to the physician
- Assist in preparing patients for procedures by positioning, applying sterile technique, and explaining procedures to allay apprehensions
- Operate complex radiology equipment like x-ray tubes, angiographic equipment, and digital subtraction devices
- Transfer images to the cardiac picture archival system and ensure proper archiving in patient records
- Monitor patient's cardiovascular and pulmonary systems during procedures, recognizing abnormalities and alerting physicians
- Attend departmental meetings and educational programs to support continuous quality improvement efforts
- Complete monthly on-call requirements and assist in maintaining equipment and room preparation between patients

Notes:
**Will accept straight Cath Lab Tech applicants
- OSF Call Off Policy equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty
- Will accept local candidates within a 50mi radius
- Orientation hours: 12; Guaranteed hours not applicable during orientation
- Candidate must be a drug-free campus and produce a negative drug screen ton all panels
