**Job Title:** Registered Radiologic Technologist

**Job Specialty:** Vascular Interventional Radiology

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Days; 7:30 AM - 5 PM, 4x9 Hr

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 hours per week

**Experience:** Previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting is preferred.

**License:** IEMA Radiography License, Illinois

**Certifications:**
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Radiography (R)(ARRT)

**Must-Have:** Registered Radiologic Technologist credentials

**Job Description:**

- Administers contrast material as per physician's request, monitors for hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
- Operates under direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
- Manages inventory and supplies for the department.
- Ensures correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment positioning.
- Compiles and reports clinical information from lab and pathology.
- Assists in training new staff members as necessary.
- Documents patient information accurately and thoroughly.
- Explains procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
- Provides procedural nurses with correct doses of intra-procedural medications and tracks radiation and sponge/sharp counts.
- Performs on-call duties and variable shifts as required.
- Handles peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization, and venous thrombectomy procedures.
- Assesses patients for allergies, administers, and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate.
- Completes dialysis work, including AV fistulas and tunneled dialysis catheters.
- Manages tube access and changes for various procedures.
- Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrates manual dexterity and ability to maintain a sterile field during procedures, along with effective communication skills and attention to detail.
