**Job Title:** Cardiovascular Cath Lab Tech CWR
**Job Specialty:** Electrophysiology - EP Lab
**Job Duration:** 48 weeks
**Shift:** Day - 5x8hr shifts, Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM. On-call required.
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** 2 years prior experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital; 6-12 months during a CVT accredited program or 2 years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
**License:** N/A
**Certifications:** RCIS, RCES, or RT preferred.
**Must-Have:** Knowledge of electrophysiology intra-procedure mapping, ablation, implant devices, and required to scrub.
**Job Description:**
- Assist physicians with procedures including Cardiac Catheterization, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, TEC, Rotablator, Valvuloplasty, Intra-vascular Ultrasound, and Pulmonary Angiograms.
- Prepares sterile trays and specific equipment for each procedure.
- Prepares patients prior to procedures by attaching EKG leads, performing a betadine scrub, and draping the patient.
- Assists cardiac catheterization nurse with patient preparation for monitoring.
- Calibrates and tests transducers for accurate pressure readings.
- Loads and operates power injectors.
- Utilizes and maintains digital cine technologies, ensuring proper storage and retrieval of patient images and records.
- Assists in emergency situations to restore or maintain patients' well-being.
- Assists with the removal of procedural sheaths and insertion of vascular closure devices.
- Participates in inventory control and equipment maintenance.
- Lifts a minimum of 40 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs., and stands for at least 4 hours a day.
- Identifies patient needs and delivers care specific to those needs, including communication with patients and caregivers.
- Adheres to organizational standards and competencies.
