Job Description:
- Unit 3W Stepdown with a capacity of 28 beds
- Ratios 1:4-5 (or 1:6 for MedSurg acuity)
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Utilizes Cerner EMR system
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor available during shifts
- Nurse Aides present during the day and mid-shift
- Scrub color is navy blue
- Responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips
- Must be able to titrate drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin
- Ventilators include Bipap, Cpap, High Flow
- Hospitalist available 24/7, Intensivist in the ICU during specified hours
- In-house RT and Pharmacy services 24/7
- Shifts are 12-hour rotations
- Floating to ICU may be required
- Floor-specific orientation provided
- Common diagnoses include dysrhythmias, CVAs, and various medical conditions
- Cancellation policy allows for a certain number of shifts to be canceled
- Charting system used is Cerner Corporation - PowerChart 2012.01.20
- BSN not required
