**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 7:00 AM, 12-hour Days - Every other weekend or four weekend days per month

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36/48 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 18 months experience in MedSurg with EPIC or Cerner experience

**License:** Valid RN license

**Certifications:** BLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:**
- At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience
- EPIC or Cerner experience
- Telemetry experience, including interpretation and confirmation of strip readings every 4 hours

**Job Description:**

- Nurses will be oriented and assigned a home unit on the first day.
- Provide care on units with varying patient types, including general surgery, vascular surgeries, CVA, TBI, seizures, spinal fusion, craniotomy, degenerative diseases, orthopedic and spine, med-surg/oncology, and clinical decision units.
- Patient ratios range from 1:5-6 or 1:6 for RN and LPNs depending on the unit.
- Skills required include wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration, documentation and escalations, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, colostomy/ostomy care, surgical site care, C-Collar, abdominal binders, and restraint management.
- Support on the unit includes CNAs for VS, ADLs, and glucose checks, a receptionist, charge nurses, phlebotomy team, IV/VAT team, hospitalists, and telemetry monitoring techs.
- Floating may be required to any like unit or patient location based on need.
- Orientation for new and return travelers includes 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit.
- Holiday coverage includes one major and one minor seasonal holiday.
- Nurses have flexibility in scrub color choice.
