Travel Cath Lab Tech in Santa Monica, CA

Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Cath Lab Technologist to join our team. The Cath Lab Tech will work alongside cardiologists and other medical professionals to assist with cardiac catheterization procedures, diagnostic tests, and interventions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and a commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Cardiac Procedures: Prepare and assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including coronary angiograms, stent placements, balloon angioplasty, and electrophysiology studies.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and performing necessary assessments such as vital signs and medical histories.
- Operating Equipment: Set up and operate specialized cath lab equipment, including fluoroscopy, electrocardiograms (ECG), and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) systems.
- Monitoring Patients: Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall condition during the procedure, ensuring safety and immediate response to any complications.
- Assist with Imaging: Capture high-quality images of the cardiovascular system, and assist with image documentation and processing for later review by the physician.
- Sterile Technique: Maintain a sterile field during procedures, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Maintain Equipment: Ensure the functionality and maintenance of cath lab equipment, assist with troubleshooting technical issues, and report any malfunctioning equipment.
- Prepare Documentation: Record accurate patient data, procedure details, and imaging results in electronic health records (EHR). Ensure compliance with hospital standards and legal regulations.
- Post-Procedure Care: Monitor patients post-procedure for any complications, assist with recovery, and provide patient education on aftercare instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly to emergencies within the cath lab and assist with immediate life-saving measures, if necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure effective patient care and procedural success.
