Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Special Procedures RN (Interventional Radiology), you will be a resource in assisting patients and their families in the Medical Imaging department. We support each other like family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will perform and demonstrates proficiency in providing quality patient care during the peri-procedure stay including assessment of safety, comfort, physiological and psychological needs.
  • You will work closely with Radiologists, technologist staff, ancillary departments and physicians, as care is planned and coordinated.
  • Your work is primarily performed at ORMC within the Medical Imaging Department.
  • Through the use of the nursing process, you will be responsible for providing up-to-date, timely and comprehensive nursing care.
  • You will function as a patient advocate, provides direct patient care, and meets the physical and emotional needs of patients and families. Formulates and coordinates patient’s plan of care based on assessment.
  • You will practice sterile technique and demonstrates skill in utilizing, trouble shooting, and maintaining monitoring equipment.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current Utah RN license in good standing.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Certification in Radiological Nursing encouraged.
  • One (1) year of hospital clinical experience; Critical Care or ED background preferred
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
