Avera St. Luke’s-Therapy Center is seeking an Athletic Trainer

Job Summary

  • The Athletic Trainer is accountable for providing care, treatment, and assessment of athletic injuries for individuals adolescent to geriatric.
  • Provides patients, clients, and athletes with individual programs tailored to the needs, wants, and desires of each individual; based on their health history, test results, and fitness goals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer’s status.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
  • Work with Manager of Integrated Therapy Services in planning, evaluating, and integrating new programs within the Avera Human Performance Center.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • 0-6 months of experience is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • BOC National Athletic Training Certification is required.
  • South Dakota Athletic Trainer License issued by the SD Board of Medical & Osteopathic Examiners is required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Varied shifts as needed; PRN

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $23.75 - $36.00 per hour
