**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Med/Surg - Cardio/Pulmonary

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Day Shift; 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience required

**License:** State RN License in good standing

**Certifications:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by American Heart Association

**Must-Have:**
- Cardio Pulmonary experience
- Med/Surg experience

**Job Description:**
- The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients over a designated time frame, providing care through the nursing process, nursing trends, and utilization of technology and resources within the institution's philosophy.

**Essential Functions:**
- Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit within the scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care to integrate information for the healthcare team.
- Complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implement, modify, and evaluate plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards.
- Communicate with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
- Offer constructive feedback for peers' professional development and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge.
- Identify own learning needs and take initiative for solutions.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

**Department Specific Job Functions:**
- Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Collaboratively identify patient goals of care, design, and maintain care plans with patients and families.
- Implement interventions, including medication administration and evaluation of effects.
- Prepare patients for procedures, pain management, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor labs.
- Discharge patients and provide instructions for safe transition from the hospital.
- Document all care using EMR.
- Ensure team huddles are occurring.
- Evaluate patients and provide appropriate follow-up.
- Answer call lights and ensure basic care such as turning and toileting is performed per standards.
- Manage conflicts and communicate professionally with all team members.
