**Job Title:** Surgical Technologist

**Certifications:** Required: BLS - American Heart Association

**Must-Have:** Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military training

**Job Description:**
- Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and technique.
- Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
- Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to doctors' preference lists.
- Provide appropriate instrumentation, suture, and supplies as requested, ensuring maintenance of a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeon by passing instruments during procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy.
- Assist in the maintenance and care of specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis, handling specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice.
- Assist with timely turnover of rooms, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment, while caring for instruments and equipment.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and abide by service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business needs.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

*Note: Regular attendance to perform work on-site during scheduled business hours is required, and the ability to work nights and/or weekends may be necessary.*
