**Job Description:**

- Perform MRI procedures according to departmental protocols and standards.
- Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment proficiently, including post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment.
- Verify orders for each assigned patient and consult with Radiologist if discrepancies exist.
- Identify patients using two identifiers and provide brief explanations of procedures.
- Conduct patient interviews to obtain complete medical histories and record on requisitions.
- Correlate other test results and laboratory data with the exam being performed.
- Manage the exam process from start to completion of dictated results.
- Prepare and administer IV contrast per departmental protocols, documenting type and amount.
- Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist as needed.
- Recognize abnormal anatomy and process additional images or measurements.
- Perform basic patient care functions and inform nursing personnel of changes in patient condition.
- Initiate life support measures and assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies.
- Assist physicians and PAs during invasive procedures, practicing proper sterile techniques.
- Follow bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control protocols for all invasive procedures.
- Obtain medications or contrast materials as directed by a licensed practitioner.
- Practice radiation safety for self, employees, patients, and family members.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and engineering staff.
- Maintain knowledge and skills for safely working in environments with potential infectious disease exposure.
- Adhere to hospital fire and safety procedures and complete required safety modules.
- Operate radiology computer systems for order entry and procedure/supply charging.
- Document contrast administration in the medication administration record.
- Maintain and clean assigned work area, ensuring it is well-stocked and organized.
- Assist other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when needed during MRI scans.
- Stay informed of all MRI safety requirements for staff and patients near magnetic fields.
