**Job Description:**
- The role involves working on a Medical Surgical unit with 27 beds.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4-5.
- Experience with EPIC charting is 100% required.
- Must have influenza vaccination, with medical or religious exemptions approved.
- COVID vaccination is not required.
- Candidates will undergo a clinical prescreen followed by a manager interview.
- The charge nurse does not take an assignment, and there is a house supervisor available 24/7.
- Nurse aids are present on the unit with a ratio of 1:10-12.
- The unit is equipped with CPAP and NC respiratory therapy equipment.
- Scheduling is done from 7-7:30 for both AM and PM shifts with scheduling requests taken into account, although not guaranteed.
- Requires working two weekends per four-week schedule, and holiday shifts as needed.
- Standby is required if scheduled and not needed; no true 'on call' shifts are required.
- Floating is required to any similar areas within the nurse's skill set.
- Dress code requires royal blue scrubs; scrubs are not provided by the employer.
- New hires will have a unit/department-specific orientation, including two shifts with a preceptor.
- There is a cancellation policy that allows for one shift per two-week period.
- The charting system used is EpicCare Inpatient EMR.
- The facility is a Level 3 trauma center set in an acute care setting.
